Digital Product Owner - CM1 Level 

Job Purpose

An Post is currently on a major transformation journey. Core to this is the digital strategy as we transition from old world to new, providing the backbone of e-commerce in Ireland, Government services and extending our range of Financial Services with the launch on An Post Money.
 
A dedicated Digital function has been established to create the innovative digital framework and operating model that will enable An Post to redefine existing service offerings, as well as launch new products and services in order to attract new customer segments. We are looking for an experienced Digital Product Owner who can lead the requirements for the AnPost.com App.  The App offers an award winning experience to our users, following a complete rebuild in 2021.  It focuses on frequently used services such as Track & Trace and new services such as Digital Stamp.  As the core functionality is now in place we need a Digital Product Owner to drive an innovative roadmap of change to encourage more customers to download and adopt the app as a consistent touchpoint with An Post.
 
The Digital product owner will be responsible for managing the backlog of change for the AnPost.com App.  They will work with our development partners to prioritise the changes that will deliver the best value for the business & customer and guide these changes through from inception to delivery.  This will be in line with the Agile methodology in as much as that is possible in the context of An Post.

Responsibilities

  • Own & groom the backlog of requirements for the AnPost.com App to drive out the priorities for change.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, daily stand up’s, sprint reviews, workshops, show & tells etc. 
  • Work with our development partners to detail out all requirements so they are fully understood by the development team.
  • Provide direction and sign off on all designs to deliver the best possible user experience.
  • Work with the team during the development phase to provide clarity & direction on any changing priorities or requirements. 
  • Participate in and sign off on testing to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Drive any research & customer testing with our partners to ensure we deliver the changes need by the customer.
  • Provide updates and clear communications to key stakeholders on progress to ensure everyone understands the status of the roadmap of change.
  • Develop launch communications promote changes to customers & inform any internal training needs. 
  • Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
  • Continuous learning and curiosity for new digital innovations and their application to our digital strategy.
  • Advocate and actively demonstrate An Post core values and behaviours.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills required

The ideal candidate will have a minimum five years’ relevant work experience in digital development with a knowledge of current and future trends. Ideally, you will have worked as a Product Owner in a digital context and have knowledge of Agile ways of working.  A good understanding of User Experience principles and experience delivering high profile complex projects that involve multiple business partners is key.  
You will be customer focused and be passionate about delivering the best possible customer experience.  Knowledge of the postal industry or another utility is ideal.
