An Post Institute

The An Post Institute is An Post’s commitment to providing learning opportunities for all employees, cultivating a culture of continuous learning that inspires all staff to grow, progress and thrive. 

The An Post Institute is the evolution of our Learning and Development supports to our people. Aligned to the An Post Green Light Strategy and anchored to our Organisational Capabilities, the An Post Institute harnesses physical space, outside-in thinking and learning technologies to provide the supports our people need to grow for the future. Comprising of four academies; Leadership, Digital, Business Agility, and Career Development, this structure is aimed at ensuring we are developing the capabilities needed to drive the business forward into the future.

Development Pathways

We have introduced Learning Pathways , which provide guidance for all employees on formal learning opportunities relevant for their role. Opportunities range from  IT Skills courses to Manual Handling training  to Project Management and everything in between!

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Bród at An Post

Our Bród employee resource group remains a catalyst for positive change, ensuring all voices are heard and respected. The group organises and sponsors annual Pride festivities and has created a comprehensive guide for all employees on how to support LGBTQ+ colleagues.

Gender Equality

An Post have relentlessly focused on supporting gender equality, achieving a zero gender pay gap for the last 4 years (2021 – 2024), while increasing female representation at senior levels. This has been achieved by introducing changes to our recruitment process; implementing software to remove gender bias, simplifying job advertisements, introducing a new applicant tracking system and changing our end-to-end process. 
In addition, we launched our female talent acceleration programme ‘Aspire’, which is part of our wider learning and development framework: the An Post Institute.

Supporting Our Colleagues Who Have Disabilities

Over the last 3 years we have focused on colleagues with disabilities by implementing comprehensive disability awareness training for all employees, delivered live by our partners Ability Focus. We introduced two new policies for Disability Inclusion and Reasonable Accommodation and launched a disability passport. We have celebrated our people with disabilities by sharing their stories and running information sessions helping everyone learn a little more about living with a disability and the challenges people face.

Nominations

Anyone can nominate a colleague and share their Values in Practice (VIP) story. These stories are reviewed quarterly by the Management Board who select the strongest example of our values being practiced. 24 Values in Practice award winners (VIPs) are celebrated at our yearly An Post Employee Award, Values in Practice event.
