Step by step

Register for an account using your name or business trading name, email address and password. You will receive an email with an activation link. Once the registration step is complete you can start applying for the licences you need. Find the licence you need by clicking the licensing authority’s icon, searching for it by name in the search box or by going to the ‘Find a Licence’ page and selecting the business activity or licensing authority from the dropdown lists.

Select the licences you want and start filling in the details. Each step in the application process is saved. You can return to complete your application at any time. The system will prompt you if you need to upload supporting documentation.

You can then pay for your licence or licences using a debit card, credit card or transfer funds directly to the An Post bank account.

You will receive a confirmation message when the application has been successfully submitted. You can view the details, manage and track the progress of all your applications anytime by logging into your account.

The licensing authority will issue the licence directly to you.

How much?

There is no charge to use to apply for a licence. You pay the standard fee for new licences or renewals as set by individual licensing authorities.
