Sharing relevant and accountable information about our business practices, supply chain, and our people is of utmost importance to us as it enables us to track our progress, be accountable for our ambitions, and learn from our actions.
Sharing relevant and accountable information about our business practices, supply chain, and our people is of utmost importance to us as it enables us to track our progress, be accountable for our ambitions, and learn from our actions.
By regularly reporting to organisations and bodies, our progress is independently assessed, benchmarked, and verified. The way that we voluntarily report will continue to evolve, in line with the changing reporting landscape at domestic, EU and global levels.
Furthermore, An Post is continuing to align with ISO 20400 – Sustainable Procurement and ISO 14083 – Greenhouse Gases In 2024, following a review of our voluntary reporting frameworks, we took a decision to pause recertification for the Business in the Community Business Working Responsibly Mark in order to focus our resources on meeting the requirements of CSRD. We plan to undertake annual reviews of our reporting frameworks to ensure that we continue to align with emerging regulations and best practices in sustainability reporting.
At An Post we strongly believe that being active members of bodies which support sustainability initiatives, as well as obtaining relevant certifications, are key to maintaining momentum and focus towards our goals.
We are proud that our sustainability activities have been recognised by our peers and resulted in An Post ranking the Most Sustainable Organisations in Ireland (Ireland’s RepTrak Sustainability Index) and winning a number of awards in 2022 such as “Grand Prix” award at the PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Awards, winner of Outstanding Achievement at the Chambers Ireland Sustainable Impact Awards and winner of Excellence in Sustainability in Facilities Management awards.
We have identified objectives and metrics to monitor our progress in relation to each of the five SDGs to which we are committed. To ensure transparency in our reporting, we have also included an indicator as to our current assessment of the likelihood of achieving the objective within the stated timeframe. This is to acknowledge the fact that many of our targets are ambitious in nature.
