Add a special ‘as Gaeilge’ sparkle to your Christmas cards this year
An Post is making it easy for everyone to include Irish in their Christmas wishes with a list of much-loved traditional Irish greetings.
An Post Irish Language Officer Críostόir Mac Cafraidh explains that people love receiving greetings with a bit of heart, and the Irish language adds special warmth and meaning to Christmas messages, particularly for loved ones overseas:
“Even a cúpla focal on a card can means so much and encourages people to use any Gaeilge that they have. At An Post, we aim to help everyone share that sense of connection by sending love this Christmas. We encourage everyone to take a look at our list of greetings and to include one on cards or letters to family and friends - or even add your own one! Nollaig shona daoibh uainne go léir ag An Post”, he added.
