Who are Children's Health Foundation?

Children's Health Foundation raises vital funds to support sick children and their families in CHI hospitals and urgent care centres - from funding vital life-saving equipment and providing essential patient and parental supports to making ground-breaking, paediatric research possible. Children's Health Foundation is the new name for CMRF Crumlin and Temple Street Foundation, which came together in January 2019 to become one foundation supporting all CHI sites to ensure every sick child has the very best chance. We are committed to supporting the little patients and families who attend Children's Health Ireland (CHI) hospitals and urgent care centres in Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. With the continued kindness and generosity of our supporters across Ireland and beyond, we will work as one organisation to continue our vital work in supporting the patients, families and staff in CHI - today, tomorrow, and in the future. Who are Cork University Hospital Charity?

Funds raised from this initiative for CUH Charity will go to support the Neonatal Sanctum. The Neonatal Sanctum will be a glass structure in the CUMH garden for parents to take a baby in palliative care, or for a seriously ill mother to access. Being able to step outside in a quiet dignified space, away from a clinical critical environment is so important for families.  Sharing a small glimpse of nature with an ill or dying baby in a place of quiet, solace and privacy creates cherished memories that will last for many years.
“When a baby is born in the maternity hospital and has spent its entire, short life in the neonatal intensive care unit – Wouldn’t it be wonderful, just for a few minutes, as a family, to look to the sky? The design that the architects have come up with captures all that.”
Professor John R. Higgins (CHY 17293)
