Congratulations to Our Four Finalists!


Following an incredible response from communities across the country, we're delighted to announce the four finalists of the Making Better Happen Awards.

Our finalists are:

Leinster: Shanganagh Community Garden, Dublin
Munster: Revive Tramore, Waterford
Connacht: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Sligo
Ulster: Cross Community Development Group, Cavan

Congratulations to all of our finalists. Your dedication to making a positive difference in your communities has earned you a place in the final, following a public vote that recognised the impact of your work.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who entered the Making Better Happen Awards. The standard of entries was exceptionally high, and we were inspired by the commitment, creativity, and community spirit demonstrated by every organisation and project.

The next stage of the awards is just around the corner. Stay tuned as we announce our judging panel, who will have the difficult task of selecting this year's overall winner.

Video entries

As part of the Making Better Happen Awards, groups were asked to send in a short video that shows off their initiative. 

The awards recognise people and projects making better happen every day from protecting biodiversity, reducing waste and driving circular economy solutions in their communities. The competition is divided into provinces and the top performing group from each province will progress to the final with one overall winner of the Making Better Happen Awards.

Prize

The competition is divided into provinces and the top performing group from each province will progress to the final. One of the four finalists will be crowned the winner of the Making Better Happen Awards.
  • The provincial winners will receive €1,500 each 
  • The overall national winner will receive an additional €5,000
