Primary School Writing Competition 2025

holly

An Post crowned its youngest ever Handwriting Winner, Holly Hogan (5) from Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
Holly, a student at Youghalarra N.S., Newtown in Nenagh, is the youngest ever prize-winner in many years of An Post’s annual Writing Competition.

The competition theme this year was ‘Caring for our Community’ and Holly’s entry showed her gratitude to her local Postman for safely delivering her passport and his treasured place in the community.

At An Post, we are proud to support Literacy through fun reading and writing competitions. The programme welcomes submissions from Junior infant to sixth class pupils. This year we asked primary school pupils from Junior Infants to 6th Class to write a letter telling us how they will contribute to the growth, wellbeing, and sustainability of our beloved Ireland and sow the seeds for a future to be proud of.

Holly’s work can now be found in local post offices across Tipperary where her creation features on a postcard that can be used to send love to family and friends across Ireland and the world.
