PostFX™ cards at the post office – safer, cheaper holiday money
17 June 2013
The new PostFX™ card is safer than cash and cheaper than a credit card and available in hundreds of Post Offices. It’s the smart way to take Dollars to the US or Sterling to the UK and it’s commission free. The chip & PIN, pre-paid card can be used at any UK or US retail outlet, tourist attraction, restaurant or ATM that displays the MasterCard Acceptance Mark.
The PostFX™ card is a development of An Post’s successful Dollars and Sterling currency service introduced just two years ago. Both services are commission free and offer highly competitive exchange rates.
The PostFX™ card is available at the counter in hundreds of Post Offices nationwide, as listed on www.anpost.ie/sterlinganddollars. Customers simply load up the card with the US Dollar or Sterling value they require before they travel, the card can be re-loaded in Post Offices and any remaining balance can be cashed out. Proof of identity comprising a Passport or Driving Licence and a utility bill is required at the point of purchase. The card is backed up by MasterCard’s 24/7 global assistance service. Using the card to pay for goods or services at merchants is generally free of charge but cash withdrawals from UK or US ATM machines will incur additional charges.
The PostFX™ card is the latest in a suite of travel services available to holiday customers from An Post, including Passport Express, Mailminder (for holding business and personal mail while you are away) and One Direct Travel Insurance.
