Christmas Stamps and Advice for Christmas Posting

24 November 2003

Three traditional Christmas stamps in denominations of 48c (postage within in the island of Ireland); 50c (airmail postage to Britain) and 57c (airmail postage to the rest of the World) are also available at Post Offices and on-line at www.irishstamps.ie All four stamps feature Irish artist Olwyn Whelan’s vibrant paintings of the Nativity.

Once again this year An Post is asking to customers to ‘Post Early For Christmas’
A spokesperson explained that customers can help to ensure speedy delivery of their Christmas mail by always using the full, correct address and by including a return address on the front top left-hand corner of the envelope. All envelopes should be sealed and postage rates checked to take account of weight and size.

Latest dates of posting are displayed in all Post Offices and on the An Post website at www.anpost.ie

Posting deadlines to ensure delivery in time for Christmas include:
3rd December - Africa and India
7th December - UNIFIL troops, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand the Phillippines
19th - December - All parts of Europe, Britain and Northern Ireland
20th December - The absolute deadline for delivery within the State.
