Compliance Governance and Policy Manager
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Financial Services Compliance, the Compliance Governance and Policy Manager is responsible for the development and communication of all required Compliance Policies (Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime), setting out requirements in relation to Financial Services Compliance and providing advice on the interpretation and implementation of policies. This position offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of An Post’s presence in the Retail Financial Services Industry.
Responsibilities
The principal responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to:
Fostering and encouraging a culture of compliance in relation to An Post’s Financial Services activities and promoting awareness of compliance principles, policies, standards and regulations.
Contributing and participating in Second Line of Defence Compliance Risk Governance Committees and attending and participating in relevant First Line of Defence Governance Committees.
Supporting the development and implementation of a suite of Compliance Policies.
Reviewing and updating existing Compliance Policies for new/amended Regulatory Requirements and Standards.
Contributing to the development of an annual risk based Compliance Monitoring Plan and providing specialist compliance advice to ensure adherence to policies, regulations and standards.
Providing compliance advice and sign off for all new and amended products, supporting marketing and customer documentation.
Engaging with Regulators in relation the Compliance Risk Framework, Policies, new Regulations and consultation papers.
Developing and maintaining a live Compliance Obligations Universe.
Ensuring all current and emerging compliance obligations are identified and incorporated into new and revised Compliance Policies.
Monitoring, identifying, advising and communicating impacts of upstream (future) regulatory changes.
Consulting with Legal on Compliance matters as appropriate.
Developing and providing consultation with HR, and our Compliance Training Programme.
Demonstrating An Post values and behaviours in your day to day work and addressing behaviour that supports/conflicts with them.
Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will have a professional compliance qualification or relevant third level degree with at least 5 years’ recent, proven experience in a similar role within a Compliance Function, Risk Function or other Audit Function, preferably in the financial services or insurance industries. You will have experience working in a Three Lines of Defence (3LOD) Risk Management model with a track record of delivering high quality compliance oversight across multiple products and entities. A strong understanding of current and emerging compliance risks and practical experience of leading an effective control environment and the ability to benchmark and analyse various compliance risks is required.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively, presenting complex details, concepts and information at the appropriate level relative to the audience is key. You will have the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and adapt to varied decision making scenarios with undoubted and proven integrity. You are adept at building and maintaining excellent relationships across multiple business functions.
