The An Post Irish Book Awards is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the unveiling of a specially curated list of 60 outstanding books from the past two decades.
To mark this milestone year, the Awards is inviting readers across Ireland to help choose the Top 20 Favourite Irish Books of the past 20 years by voting from this exceptional list.
The Top 60: A Celebration of Irish Writing
The anniversary list features 20 Fiction, 20 Non-Fiction and 20 Children’s titles, all drawn from An Post Irish Book Awards category winners since the Awards began in 2006.Selected through votes from leading booksellers nationwide, the list reflects the breadth, quality and impact of Irish writing over the last two decades, celebrating stories that have informed, entertained and inspired readers of all ages.
The list includes works by some of Ireland’s most acclaimed and beloved writers, including Paul Murray, Katriona O’Sullivan, Roddy Doyle, Louise O’Neill, Paddy Donnelly, Andrea Mara, Fintan O’Toole, Louise Kennedy, Paul Howard, Claire Keegan, Colin Walsh, Eilish Fisher, Sally Hayden, Manchán Magan, Liz Nugent, Luke O’Neill, and many more.
Additional titles by authors such as Seán Ronayne, Emilie Pine, Joseph O’Connor, Emma Donoghue, Peter Donnelly and Catherine Ryan Howard also feature, ensuring the list captures the diversity and influence of Irish writing across genres and generations.

The public is now invited to vote for their favourite books from the Top 60 list.
Voting opens: Monday, 23rd March
Voting closes: 6pm on Monday, 13th April
Top 20 revealed: Sunday, 19th April
