International Registered Post to send safely overseas

Tracking for Registered Post International is available up to dispatch from the Republic of Ireland but online tracking is not available to every country.

A copy of the signature confirming safe delivery can be obtained on request from the delivering postal operator and this can then be obtained from Customer Services.

Documents cannot be insured when being sent using International Registered Post.

If you are sending an item other than documents and wish to have the item insured, you can use our Insured Post Service. Please note that the below items can be accepted by Insured Post, but are not insured:

• Bank drafts
• Cash and coins
• Documents
• Glass and other fragile items
• Jewellery
• Passports
• Precious metals such as platinum, gold or silver

International Registered Post can only be used to send documents up to a weight of 2kg. When sending packets to destinations outside the European Union, a completed customs declaration form (CN23) is required and is available from your post office.

An Aviation Security Declaration, to ensure compliance with airline security regulations, must be attached to any packet or parcel containing goods sent within the EU, excluding Northern Ireland.

Queries about registered items can be made by:

• Completing the enquiry form for missing, damaged or delayed items
• Writing to An Post Customer Services, General Post Office, O’Connell Street Lower, Dublin 1, D01 F5P2

All enquiries must be made within six months of the date of posting for international items.

In the event that your registered item is not received by the addressee, we will compensate you subject to certain conditions.
