Find a TARIC Code for your customs documents

When importing or exporting goods from outside the EU, you will need to assign a TARIC code to your customs declaration for the receiving customs body to process your goods correctly.
This may also be referred to as a Harmonisation code (HS code), a Tariff code or a Commodity code.
Using the TARIC Code Finder tool below you can identify the correct commodity code for your items.
Please remember, it is your responsibility to find and use the correct TARIC code. An Post does not accept responsibility for any incorrect TARIC codes used.

What else do I need to know about exporting outside the EU? 

There are new EU customs laws coming into place from 1st April 2023. You will need to fill out an electronic form called the Advanced Electronic Data form (AED), this form has to include specific criteria including your TARIC code.

What else do I need to know about importing from outside the EU? 

When importing goods from outside the EU you must complete a Consignment Arrvial Declaration. The declaration to Irish customs has specific criteria.
