Commercial Parcel Surcharges

Fuel and Energy Surcharge – Temporary change to Fuel Surcharge Application from March 20th onwards

On July 1st 2022, An Post Commerce implemented a fuel and energy surcharge on commercial domestic parcel rates.

From March 20th, An Post is introducing a temporary change to the method of calculating the fuel surcharge that better reflects changes in oil prices globally. The surcharge will now be monitored weekly and an average monthly rate applied on this basis.

This surcharge will be calculated using the European Commission Weekly Oil Bulletin https://energy.ec.europa.eu/data-and-analysis/weekly-oil-bulletin_en

The applicable weekly rates and the average monthly rate will be published on our website and will be charged for the applicable month.

Please note that the surcharge cannot go below zero.

This will not affect business transacted at post office counters or via Click & Post currently.
