Go green
Roof and wall insulation
Homes without good insulation cost more to heat up and keep warm. Insulate your roof or attic to reduce heat loss by up to 30%. It's usually the most cost efficient home energy upgrade. The SEAI grant available for attic insulation ranges from €800 - €1,500.
Insulate your external walls to reduce heat loss by up to 35%. Cavity, external and/or internal insulation can be used. The SEAI grant available range from €700 - €8,000.
Solar energy systems
Even in Ireland's climate, solar energy can help generate 50-60% of your electricity or hot water needs and reduce your energy bills. Install a solar thermal system for hot water or solar panels for electricity. The SEAI grant available is €1,200 for solar water heating and up to €2,400 for panels.
Door and window upgrades
Draughts through windows and doors are uncomfortable and increase your heating bills. Upgrade your doors and windows to current standards to reduce outside noise and heat loss by 10%. The SEAI grants available for windows range from €1,500 - €4,000. The SEAI grant for external doors is €800 per door (max. 2).

Heat pump installation
Transform the comfort level in your home. Install a heat pump to replace your heating system to reduce your heating costs, energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions. The SEAI grant available ranges from €3,500 - €6,500.
Electric car
Pollute less, reduce motoring costs and drive the latest technology. Electric and plug-in hybrid cars are cheaper to buy, fuel and maintain - especially with current government incentives. The SEAI grant alone is up to €5,000 for cars costing over €20,000.
Install a charger unit so you can charge your car at home. The SEAI grant for that is €600.
