National Stamp (Guaranteed Irish 50th)

On February 8, we issue an ‘N’ denomination stamp to mark the golden anniversary of the launch of one of the most recognisable symbols in Ireland. The Guaranteed Irish (GI) symbol campaign was developed in 1974 by the Irish Goods Council as part of the National Development Association.

The GI not-for-profit business membership organisation today consists of 1,600 members, who directly employ over 100,000 people. Its purpose is to help consumers identify quality Irish products and support local businesses.

Our stamp design captures the essence of Guaranteed Irish in a simple and playful way. The iconic Guaranteed Irish logo takes centre stage, rendered in gold to mark the anniversary. A hand is seen selecting the dot within the ‘I’, representing the act of choosing and supporting Irish products. This visual metaphor embodies the core values of the campaign. The dot within the ‘I’ is in the signature Guaranteed Irish green, creating a memorable and engaging stamp.
