Regional Sales Managers, Retail Directorate 

2 Vacancies: Munster Region & West/North Region

Role Purpose 

Reporting to the Head of Omni Channel Sales, the Regional Sales Manager will work with contracted and branch post offices. Your primary goal will be to drive the commercialisation of the network, maximising all selling opportunities. You will be someone who drives culture and puts the customer at the centre of all that you do. You will work with postmasters and branch managers, setting sales targets and supporting in-office activity and behaviour to enhance the customer experience and maximise every sales opportunity. 

Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Setting sales targets for each office in your region while ensuring buy-in from branch managers and postmasters.
  • Analysing sales data to identify opportunities and translate into clearly identifiable sales objectives.
  • Reporting to senior management on sales generation activities & results against plan.
  • Identifying both struggling and successful sales initiatives and exploring ways to improve on sales metrics.
  • Managing the branch office P&L to control costs and maximise revenue generation.
  • Driving customer care and fully utilising the CX ‘Voice of the Customer’ programme data to enhance the customer experience in your region.
  • Demonstrating An Post values and behaviours in your day to day work and address behaviour that supports/ conflicts with them. 

Knowledge and Experience

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a sales management role with proven experience managing and coaching teams in a high paced sales and/or retail operational environment, driving and developing a culture of high-performance. You have a track record of consistently achieving sales targets and have demonstrable understanding of sales channels within the retail environment. Experience carrying out multiple business development campaigns, across multiple sites is essential. The ability to make decisions using data combined with very strong analytical and reporting skills enables you to identify and present data-driven actionable insights and craft plans to deliver on these goals.

You are capable of effectively prioritising tasks and managing time, having an entrepreneurial and pro-active mind-set with the ability to work on your own initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with external partners (postmasters) are critical to success in this role, ensuring that your stakeholders have a thorough understanding of all initiatives being rolled out. You have a collaborative leadership style and build strong, trusted relationships. You are commercially aware with a thorough knowledge of An Post products and services. A full clean drivers licence is essential.
