Technical Support Specialist, Data & Analytics – An Post GTS

Job Purpose

The GTS Data & Analytics Solutions team are responsible for the maintenance and development of our data warehousing, data analytics & data science systems and business solutions.
 
The team ensure that our data warehouse is up to date containing the latest data from multiple operational systems and our application systems are available for use. In addition, the team work to enhance the solutions working alongside key vendors and business colleagues.
 
This role will work alongside existing team members and provide technical support for ETL, dashboard and data visualisation operations and changes. This will include both support and project related activity. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for data warehousing ETL operations/dashboards/data visualisation and respond to issues as they arise.
  • Work alongside team members to complete change requests/project tasks in our data warehouse, dashboards and reporting.
  • Develop & maintain expertise in underlying data warehousing technologies and business data.
  • Complete systems management/monitoring tasks as directed & work with team to maintain compliance with data and systems governance activity.
  • Assist team in writing technical and end-user documentation.

Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a relevant third level qualification and at least 2 years’ experience of Data Warehouse/Data Analytics Technologies in a production environment. Ideally, you will have experience and knowledge of Oracle Data Warehousing/Visualisation & Data Science Technologies including PL/SQL, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Analytics (OAC/OAS) or Oracle OBIEE, together with excellent Data Analytics and organisational skills.
 
Experience in relevant systems support/development technologies will also be an advantage (Oracle Database, Oracle APEX, Python).
 
You will have excellent communication and team working skills and be quality focused, with past experience of ensuring delivery of excellent customer service.
