IT PMO Analyst (PCI)

PCI is a wholly owned subsidiary of An Post, providing specialist IT Strategy, Management and Development services across every aspect of An Post IT infrastructure. Alongside An Post IT staff, they collectively form the internal IT function known as Group Technology Services (GTS).

Role Purpose

An Post is undergoing a major technology transformation. As we transition to a new digital age, we continue to provide the backbone of eCommerce in Ireland, delivering Government services and enhancing our range of financial services and retail operations. Our GTS team is critical to building the technology and data capability that underpins our core services. This is a multifaceted, diverse and rapidly evolving IT environment and as such, we need a highly skilled individual to maintain and control project management initiatives that span one or multiple strategic priorities / functional areas.
The Project Management Office (PMO) is situated near Dublin’s Docklands in the new EXO headquarters. The PMO Analyst will play a crucial role in driving project management excellence within An Posts GTS organisation. You will be responsible for assisting the PMO Manager in implementing PMO initiatives and ensuring that project governance continues to grow and mature. They will also provide comprehensive support to project managers and senior leadership, ensuring effective planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Build strong relationships with PM stakeholders to assist in growing the team's services offerings.

  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies and standards by reviewing and assessing project documentation, including ROM estimations, project briefs, project plans, schedules, RAID Logs etc.

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and review project plans, charters, resource requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, capture and assess risks and issues, and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Help to develop and produce regular reports, dashboards, Analyse project data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.

  • Assist the PMO in capacity planning, resource forecasting, and resource levelling.

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the PMO function and propose solutions.

  • Mentor and support junior project management team members and share best practices.

  • Review and monitor project budget codes to assess and report on spend activities.

  • Manage the financial lifecycle from initial creation of purchase orders to the processing and payment of invoices.

Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years proven experience working within a PMO environment.
You will have solid understanding of project management methodologies and be proficient in utilising project management tools such as Jira, Confluence MS Project. Having a formal Project Management qualification (e.g. PMI) would also be an advantage.
