HR Support Executive – North-West- Temporary
We are looking to fill this temporary position, based in Galway and reporting to the HR Manager North-West.
Job Purpose
The HR Support Executive will operate flexibly as part of a team with responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of a range of HR support services to management and employees in Corporate and Business Unit support areas. With a strong emphasis on partnering with the business and creating an employee experience the HR Support Executive will act to ensure that the provision of HR support to management and employees is consistently to a high standard.
Responsibilities
These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Working together with the other members of the team to ensure the staffing requirements of the Corporate and Business Unit Support areas are understood, and met, through a combination recruitment and / or resource reallocation in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for recruitment activity, including shortlisting, chairing selection boards and providing candidate feedback, as required.
- Processing due course retirements, career break applications, resignations and extension requests in a timely manner in consultation with line management and manage resulting staffing implications.
- Processing employee exits under the terms of the Company Exit Scheme with line management / HR Services Unit in line with procedures, while ensuring all necessary partners are briefed.
- Support, train and advise line managers in the application of Company HR policies including Grievance Management, Discipline, Dignity at Work. Ensure individual cases are processed through these procedures in an efficient and effective manner.
- Advise line management in the application of all current Company/ Union agreements to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Prepare casework and support Employee Relations management in the presentation of cases at third party bodies (e.g. Work Relations Commission, Labour Court).
- Apply, and support line management in the application of, Company processes to regulate, and minimise ongoing levels of sick absence (e.g. the Attendance Support & Management Process - ASMP, Return to Work Discussions, Occupational Health referrals).
- Engage with individual employees on matters relating to their employment with the Company and address / resolve matters in a timely manner.
- Work closely with colleagues in other HR functions to ensure the effective / efficient integration of HR processes to enable effective service delivery to internal customers.
- Undertake monitoring, analysis and reporting of activity in the area as required and support the HR Manager in addressing Internal Audit requirements.
- Carry out such duties as assigned from time to time by the HR Manager.
Knowledge & Experience
The ideal candidate must be educated to degree level in Human Resources Management or to CIPD standard. A good knowledge of, and practical experience in, the application of HR practices and procedures is essential. You will be able to maintain complete confidentiality. Strong communication, PC Skills and organisational skills and an ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation are key.
You will be required to work flexibly with your team to provide essential cover in periods of absence.
